About this event
A Creative Writing Workshop for anyone in STEM
Dr. Julia Nepper, manager of the Marc Chevrette lab, and Michelle Wildgen, WID Writer in Residence, will offer a workshop, The Science Story, on Thursday 11/5/26 from 10 AM to 12 PM. The Science Story is a one-session writing workshop for undergrads, grads, and postdocs in STEM, as well as other scientifically minded community members, that uses creative writing to reflect on your life and work in science. We discuss why writing can be useful professionally and personally, explore elements of storytelling like characterization, arc, and voice, and then write and revise a prompt about your own experiences. All levels of writing experience are welcome! Come ready to write, listen, and share (if you wish). If you have questions, please reach out to jnepper@wisc.edu or mswildgen@wisc.edu.
