Promoting VA-Community Coalition

This year’s theme, “ Health, Purpose & Connection: Supporting Veterans and Strengthening Our Communities .” Join veterans, military families, community organizations, service providers, and business leaders for this event that will feature an informative panel discussion focused on meeting veterans’ basic needs and improving their overall well-being.

We are bringing together representatives from three organizations, each addressing a different aspect of veteran wellness and support:

• Healing Warrior Hearts : Recognizing the invisible wounds of military service, supporting mental wellness, identifying warning signs, and understanding how communities can respond.

• Heroes for Healthcare : Helping veterans rediscover purpose through meaningful employment, education, career development, and successful transitions from military to civilian life.

• Madison VA Health Care : Connecting veterans and their families to healthcare, mental health services, Whole Health resources, and important updates on available benefits and support programs.

What you can expect: light hors d’oeuvres & networking, then panel conversation and facilitated networking.

The majority of Wisconsin Veterans rely on non-VA health care providers. Therefore, it is crucial that community providers of medical, mental health, and social services develop cultural competence to continue to meet the needs of Veterans in the Madison-area.

As the non-profit Community Veterans Engagement Board (CVEB) affiliated with the Madison VA Hospital and Clinics through the national VA Veterans Experience Office (VEO) and like CVEBs across the country, VetsCAN is committed to building a coalition of community organizations and providers. Please join us on Nov. 19 to learn about VetsCAN, the needs of Veterans in our community, and how each of us can be a part of the movement forward.
