About this event

Mastering Watercolor: The Complete Foundation 6-Part Series

Watercolor feels unpredictable, muddy, and out of control when you are forced to guess your way through it. This comprehensive six-part series strips away the confusion and teaches you how the medium actually works so you can paint with complete confidence.

Across these sessions, you will build a solid foundation by mastering water ratios, reading paper moisture levels, and timing your strokes to execute soft gradients or sharp lines with certainty. You will explore how staining, granulating, and transparent pigments behave so you can make intentional color choices rather than guessing. Through hands-on practice, you will learn to stack clean glazes for luminous depth, protect your paper whites with using many different techniques, and evaluate paper, brushes, and palettes to build a lean, high-performing setup without wasting money. Most importantly, you will truly understand how watercolor behaves, giving you control over your materials and leveling up your painting skills.

Enrolling in the full bundle unlocks the complete six-class sequence saving you 10% compared to individual registration. All professional artist-grade supplies are included for you to use in every workshop. Deadline for bundle signup is October 1.

Class 5: Saving the White: Highlights, Lifting, and Preservation

Once you lose the white of the paper, the light in your painting disappears. Beginners often panic when they lose their highlights and overwork the paper trying to get them back. This 2.5 hour class focuses on the strategies needed to keep your highlights glowing from start to finish. You will learn how to strategically plan negative space, use masking tools effectively, scratch in sharp highlights, and master lifting pigments safely without destroying your paper. You will leave with a complete toolkit of techniques to preserve bright, clean light. All supplies are professional artist grade and included for you to use in this workshop.
